Why Wait, Start College Now!

Q. How much does it cost to participate in the College Now program?
A. — The College Now is a completely FREE program.

Q. If I attend a catholic school in New York City, can I participate in the College Now program?
A. —  Please note that only students who attend NYC public high schools are registered homeschooled students. Students with disabilities whose private school tuition is supported by the DOE can participate in College Now.

Q. Can I participate in the program if I receive a 73 on my ELA?
A. — Students can enroll in the Counseling 110 course (1 college credit). Please see the eligibility requirements.

Q. Do I have to buy my textbook?
A. — No, the College Now program will lend and provide your class's required textbook and materials.

Q. Will I receive a John Jay College ID card?
A. —Yes, students enrolled in a college credit course are issued a John Jay ID card.

Q. Do I have to submit my Immunization record (proof of Immunization)?
A. —No, College Now students are not required to submit proof of Immunization.

Q. How many credits can I earn through College Now (CUNY)?
A. — Students may earn 15 credits through the College Now program.

Q. Will I receive college credits or high school credits for a workshop? 
A. — No, students do not earn credits for workshop activities.

Q. —How do I transfer my credits?
A. — Students enrolled in a college credit course may transfer their credits in several ways.  Students can request a copy of their transcript ONLINE, IN PERSON, OR BY MAILFor other College Now Programs, click here to request a transcript.

Q. How much does requesting my transcript cost?
A. — The fee to obtain your transcript depends on whether it is an official or unofficial copy.  The fee to obtain an official or unofficial copy of your transcript is $7.00 per transcript. Also, there may be an additional fee of $1.75 if you utilize the online service.

Q. What are the steps in preparing for college?
