Bio
I have taught courses in American Legal History and a history of Freedom of the Press in the United States. My interests lie in the intersection of legal and social history in a country where law substitutes for many of the shared cultural and social values that have traditionally bound together people in other countries. Current interests to be explored include charting the on-going battle between the literal words of the First Amendment and First Amendment “values”, as well a history of the changing nature of the New York bar and the effects of that change on the law.
