BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Dora Mendez, MPA (she/her/ella), Founder and CEO of Coach Dora LLC, and C-Suite Executive with 12+ years of human resources experience. My mission is to be a beacon of bold authenticity, igniting conversations on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through my writing and public speaking. I envision a world where everyone feels empowered to lead with courage and compassion, and my coaching and consulting services are the tools to make this vision a reality.
My leadership positions include Vice President of Human Resources & Chief Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer and Director of HR roles at mission-driven non-profit organizations. Before this, I was in public service, investigating hundreds of employment and housing discrimination complaints.
I earned my Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) at the City University of NY-John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and after graduation now teaching for 14+ years at John Jay as an Adjunct Professor. I’m also a contributing Author “Latina’s Rising Up in HR Vol. 3- Executive Edition” (2024). As a lifelong New Yorker, I reside in NY with my husband and two children.
