Bio

Jan Yager, Ph.D. is an award-winning prolific author of such titles as Victims, originally published by Scribner's; When Friendship Hurts (Simon & Schuster); Effective Business and Nonfiction Writing;  Career Opportunities in the Publishing Industry; Friendship: A Selected, Annotated Bibliogprahy (Garland, now part of Taylor & Francis); and other titles. In 2019 and 206, Dr. Yager was the recipient of the Sociology department's Faculty Mentoring Excellence Award. In 2017, she was also the recipient of the Sociology department's Faculty Teaching Excellence Award. At City University of New York Graduate Center, Dr. Yager had a pre-doctoral fellowship from the National Science Foundation.
