Evacuation Procedure
Fast and orderly evacuation of the occupants of a building can be executed safely with the proper training of the safety team. Fire drills which are conducted during the semester not only serve as “hands on training” for members of the Department of Public Safety, they also serve as an opportunity for the college community to practice evacuating the building. To better prepare yourself for an evacuation, search for the nearest exit and an alternative exit to your office or classroom before an evacuation is necessary.
In the event of a fire alarm activation, all building occupants are instructed to evacuate the premises via the nearest exits as follows, unless otherwise instructed by a Fire Safety Director:
- New Building
- Haaren Hall Building
- North Hall Building
- Westport Building
- BMW Building -6th Floor
- BMW Building - 10th Floor
- Macaulay Honors College
